The first step is the character development.
Cal the Firefly is invented. He wears goggles for eye protection when he flies and has a friendly, open manner that young children favor. Once the character drawing is approved by the author the rest of the book is drawn. All pages are planned after a discussion with the author for preferences and aquistion of reference material.

Putting the book on Amazon does not cost you anything as they print each book as it is sold and pay you a royalty. The amount of the royalty depends on the price you elect for your book. They have a chart which shows you how much you receive for USA sales and sales in other countries. Also, the book can be made available to libraries and other book sellers on the Internet.
